Our 4-week Nepal and India volunteer combo gives you the opportunity to experience Nepal and India while serving orphaned children in Kathmandu and Delhi.
Nepal is a landlocked country in Southern Asia, between China and India. Nepal has eight of the world's 10 highest peaks, including Mount Everest. Enriched with incredible cultural beauty and geographical diversity, Nepal recently was declared a republic and has abolished the age-old monarchy. Adventure-seeking travelers can have everlasting memory of white water-rafting, trek along snowy, mountainous trails, jungle safari and many more. On the other, India is a country of great geographical diversity with every kind of landscape imaginable. India is the home of the sacred River Ganges and the majority of Himalayan foothills that dominate India's northern border.
Proposed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu, transfer to Asia Horizon hostel.
Day 2: You will be given 1-2 hours orientation about project, host family, safety issues, and general rules of program. Transfer to project, introduction to project staff, host family and project work begins.
Day 2 – 12: volunteers will work in an orphanage in Kathmandu.
As a volunteer in orphanage project in Nepal, you will primarily assist to boost the knowledge, skill and competence of disadvantaged and poor children of the country. By serving the orphans in orphanages, you will be offering them a different perspective on life that they can carry into adulthood.
Working in an orphanage is a real rewarding job. The orphanage centers run by our partners accommodate 20-30 boys and girls between the ages of 3 to 15. Although this is not an English teaching placement, you will have the opportunity to teach English during your stay in the orphanage and conduct creative programs including games, music, art, drawing, painting, health, nutrition, and sanitation. If you are skilled in sewing, painting, tailoring, crafting, typing, and computing, you can teach these skills to the children as well. Volunteers’ love, care, teaching of English language and sharing the experiences of their own would be a great assistance to gain confidence to them thereby making their future more secure, livable and prosperous.
Day 13: Closing of Nepal program, prepare for departure to India.
Volunteers have the option of flying to India (approximately 1 hour 30 minute-flight from Kathmandu to Delhi). Alternately, volunteers can travel by bus and/or train via Bhairawa, Nepal, although it sometimes takes up to 25 hours to reach Delhi from Kathmandu)
Day 14: Depart for India. Arrive in Delhi, transfer to hostel.
Day 15: Free day
Day 16: You will be given 1-2 hours orientation about project, host family, safety issues, and general rules of program. Transfer to project, introduction to project staff, host family and project work start.
Day 17- 27: you will work in an orphanage in Delhi.
As a volunteer in orphanage project in India, you will contribute in the development and growth of some of the most deprived and neglected children in the world. You will help the local staff as they work with children and directly involve them in various skill-developing activities and teaching English. Your commendable effort, contribution, teaching, love, care and inspiration for these underprivileged children will definitely enhance their knowledge, skill, perception, and experience thereby assisting to make their future success and radiant.
Working in an orphanage is a real rewarding job. You will work with small groups and may be asked to teach games, art, sports, and music and also escort the children to various activities. The orphanage centers run by our partners accommodate 50-70 boys and girls between the ages of 3 to 14. Although this is not an English teaching placement, you will have the opportunity to teach English during your stay in the orphanage. If you are skilled in sewing, painting, tailoring, crafting, typing, and computing, you can teach these skills to the children as well.
Day 28: Closing of program, prepare for departure to home country.

Asia Horizon is extending more possible ways for our volunteers as:
1. Our volunteers can choose any project that we offer.
2. Volunteers can take one week of language and culture program for an additional cost.
3. Volunteers can extend the length of volunteering period in any country.
