India is the land of preacher of non violence Mahatma Gandhi and the most wonderful TAJ MAHAL which is regarded as one of the eighth wonder of the world. Other most important part you will never forget is that the Indian people: Indian people are the most hospitable host in the world. With the belief of “Atithi devo bhava” or “the guest is truly our god” they welcome you everywhere in this beautiful country; their hospitality is the reflection of their home, culture and their country. Whenever they meet, they will greet you placing their hands together as in prayer like gesture that is “Namaste”.
Despite the rich cultural heritage, geography, history and hospitable people, the country is surrounded by many other problems, especially the rural area is underdeveloped, the literacy rate and health conditions in rural areas are poor and deficient compared to urban life, women and children are surrounded by many problems and the environment is degrading rapidly. Asia Horizon runs its volunteer program throughout the year in this fascinating country and it cooperates with various social organizations at the grass roots level to implement its program effectively. It welcomes international volunteers to join our program and contribute their work and energy to the rural communities where you will get the supreme happiness.
