As part of our social welfare venture, RCDP Nepal constructs and renovates orphanages and schools targeting orphans and underprivileged children. Various international development organizations such as Aid Camp International, British Trust for Nature Conservation (BTCV), Youth Enhancement and Training Initiative (YETI) and other compassionate volunteers and enthusiastic helping hands have been supporting us in this sacred project. RCDP Nepal with the collaboration of these helping hands has constructed and conducted various schools and an orphanage in Chitwan where hundreds of most deprived and orphan children of the country are studying on free of cost. Likewise, currently we are constructing a new orphanage for orphan children in Lamatar of Kathmandu with the collaboration of Aid Camp International. Volunteers’ helping hands and compassionate motivation to assist us in this project are highly anticipated.
RCDP Nepal is operating the program focusing needy and deprived children like orphans, street children, laborers etc of the country. This program promotes and protects educational rights of the children who are forced to live in extreme poverty and helpless circumstances. The project also encourages the rural community based development efforts of local people. RCDP Nepal offers meaningful, constructive and effective volunteering program to the volunteers whose little help could make a great positive impact in the life of those poor children.
Nepal is one of the most disadvantaged and poor country in the world. A majority of Nepali people have no access to education, healthcare, employment and other modern privileges. The government is unable to provide access to education and schooling to the deprived children in remote areas. There is still dearth of school facilities for children in those areas. Besides, there are thousands of orphans and needy children who are even struggling for subsistence and it is obvious that they can not attend the school with empty stomach even if they have access to school and education facilities.
RCDP Nepal invites compassionate volunteers and enthusiastic helping hands to support us in these humanitarian projects solely for the advantage of very needy children, orphan and other excluded and helpless children of Nepal.
Project skills required:
You need not necessarily have prior skill and experience regarding school and orphanage construction and renovation. However, volunteers joining this project should have strong compassion and motivation to work for rural community people and to construct and renovate the schools, orphanages etc. Since the renovation and construction work demands some physical effort and strength, you have to be physically strong and perfect. An adoptable nature to adjust even in remote areas with poor modern facilities is highly anticipated.
Kathmandu: We are planning to construct and conduct an orphanage beginning from July 2007 in Lamatar of Kathmandu. The place is around 10-12 km away from our Head office in Kalanki.
The capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu is also known as the city of temples and historically significant monuments. This is why the small city harbors more than half a dozen of ancient historical places and heritages which are listed in World Heritage Site. Though small in size, the valley has topographical variation and cultural diversity. Besides, the apt temperature and climate of the city which is neither too cold nor sizzling warmly welcomes you.
Chitwan: RCDP-Nepal has constructed more than half a dozen of schools in different parts of Chitwan district for needy and underprivileged children of the country. We are also planning to build more schools in the remote areas in the district. Likewise, we have constructed and conducted an orphanage in Rampur of Chitwan district. The project location is 4 hours drive away from Kathmandu (170 Km).
Located in plain belt of the country, Chitwan is one of the most known tourism hubs in Nepal. One can enjoy the bliss of nature by traveling to another World Heritage Listed magnificent place known as Chitwan National Park. Elephant riding for Jungle Safari to witness one-horned Rhino and Bengal Tiger, Canoeing, Viewing sunrise and sunset, Bird watching, Tharu village walk and Cultural immersion programs are the attractions of the place. In addition, Chitwan is popularly known as the store house of corn as it is one of the most fertile lands of the country.
Arrangement of room/food/supervision
RCDP-Nepal makes appropriate provision for food, room and supervision for its volunteers from the very beginning of their arrival to the country. During the first week of language training program, RCDP-Nepal manages you a clean and pleasant hostel having food facility where cooks prepare a variety of Nepali food (Dal, Bhat, Curry, Bread, Pickle, Tea etc). For your convenience, they will make continental and international food as well. During volunteers’ volunteering programs, their accommodation will be provided by a host family. RCDP-Nepal arranges a separate room along with a communal bath for volunteers in both the host families and hostel accommodations. Besides, Nepali people are extremely hospitable, warm and welcoming and volunteers are well respected and behaved wherever they go. Our staffs visit the volunteers frequently at their placement. We assess the situation of the volunteers, working progress, and also receive feedback during this visit. |
