 One-week Language & Cultural Immersion
Project Overview

Asia Horizon provides one-week orientation program comprised of language training, cultural tours, village hiking and biking, sightseeing of Bangkok and village stay. The main aim of our unique language and cultural orientation is to teach volunteers about local language, culture, customs and way of life in fabulous Thailand. By joining our one-week language program, you will gain new insights into the rich and diverse life of Thailand and its people. This program provides an opportunity to the volunteers to live with the Thai host families and enjoy a family like atmosphere away from home and learn more about Thailand.

The first 3 days of the language class focuses on learning basic Thai language, including Thai language instruction and the second part will provide the opportunity to practice Thai language living with a host family. The second part of the program also includes orientation on Thai culture and tradition with sightseeing of the nearby areas. The main part of this program is the home stay, where our volunteers live with warm and friendly host family, eat Thai food, and observe village culture. Additionally, volunteers will have some project training during the home stay program.

Note: Language and culture program is only available for long-term volunteers.

Departure to Nakhon Nayok, Samut Songkhram or another same type of village for home-stay and cultural immersion. We arrange home stay in small local communities or towns within 1-2 hours drive. Nakhon Nayok, one of the popular home-stay villages, is very close to a national park which is well-known for its attractive landscape, serene forests and breathtaking waterfalls. All the home stay villages are famous for fruit orchards, rice paddies, fish farms and chicken farms.

Note: During the village stay, there will be plenty of opportunities for hiking, biking, and experience Thai village life. Volunteers will visit local villages, and discern local lifestyles, including practicing language with local people. There will be the chance to explore the villages, green forests, magnificent landscapes, and different aspects of rural life in Thailand.

Day 7: Return to Asia Horizon hostel and transfer to the placement or host family/apartment/hostel to start their volunteer project.
After completing the one-week Language and Culture/Village Stay Program, you will be prepared for your enriching volunteer placement. A complete schedule for the program will be provided during the orientation.
