Project Overview

The Department of Social Welfare in Chiang Mai (Northern Thailand) is supporting an elderly home. 140 Elderly people, (94 female and 46 male) are provided shelter in this Chiang Mai Elderly Home. This home provides shelter, care, therapeutic aid and counseling to the needy senior citizens of Thailand who are above the age of 60. They need mental as well as physical support others. They should be looked after almost all the time. Volunteers to Chiang Mai can use their education, skills, and time making meaningful contributions in the life of elderly people in this home and make their life worth living.

This home has its own housing complex. The home has well managed office with more than 3 dozen active and dedicated staff serving those needy people. Though English is not spoken widely, some staff members can communicate in English. Along with serving the senior people, volunteers can feel the situation that is to come in their own life. Thus volunteering in old care home is to see the upcoming life for own self. This properly designed project, warmly welcomes volunteers who have love, respect and compassion for the old and want to make a momentous contribution by making the life of older people worth living.
